Hey,
While I was waiting for the notes on my last draft, I spent my time tossing two more book ideas around in my head. I’m not sure this is efficient or recommended - writing a book can feel like walking a razor thin edge between order and chaos, where one little slip can unravel the plot and send you back to the beginning (This is where outlines help). I allowed myself to daydream, alternating between the two, wondering if maybe they were even the same story, playing with outlines for both, getting stuck, finding my way out, only to get stopped up again. That’s the process.
But now that I have the notes back on the written novel, these will be on pause. I want to focus on one story at a time. When I’m in it, I’m focused - each story deserves my full attention.
When I look at these latest notes, I don’t anticipate weeks worth of edits. How much time is required is still up in the air - this is all uncharted territory for me. But each step forward feels rewarding. I love watching it take shape, starting from literal nothingness into a something that I created but seems to be its own thing at the same time.
I’m very excited to get to show you what this has become.
